DESCRIPTION:APRIL 14-16\, 2023. \nLed by Katy Gaughan and Ashley Tisdale\nLocation: Wellspring Conference Center in Germantown\, MD\nRegister here: https://tinyurl.com/6p84sdhc \nVillage Music Circles™ Basic Facilitator Training will empower you to build a rhythm community while exploring the foundational elements of drum circle facilitation. \nLearn facilitation techniques and develop skills while gaining the confidence and knowledge to successfully lead a rhythm event. \nPacked with information and hands-on experience\, both beginning and experienced facilitators will have plenty of opportunities for practicing new skills in a safe\, supportive environment. \nWhat does the program entail? \nIn 20+ hours of training\, participants will have opportunities to practice facilitation techniques and skills needed to lead a drum circle event for a variety of populations. \nThis Playshop will include a mixture of teaching styles; incorporating instruction with discussions\, small group and large group activities\, and hands on learning – all while utilizing movement\, voice\, musical instruments\, and rhythm games. Arthur has dedicated his life to making the joy of rhythm accessible to people everywhere. \nThrough his trainings\, books\, dvds\, and music\, Arthur strives to bring people a direct experience of the joy of rhythm; empowering others to carry the positive impact of community building through rhythm forward into their own lives and community. \nArthur has sparked the world-wide movement of drum circle facilitation\, creating a new and internationally recognized profession of the Drum Circle Facilitator. Through her organization Drumming for Wellness\, Katy facilitates group drumming experiences for wellness\, community building and celebration. She has been leading drum circles in the Washington\, DC area for the past 20 years. Katy provides drum circles for schools\, assisted living facilities\, retirement communities\, churches\, non-profit organizations\, birthday parties\, team-building events\, community festivals and celebrations and works with kids\, adults\, seniors\, and special needs populations. Katy was trained by Arthur Hull and is now a certified global drum circle facilitator trainer with Village Music Circles. Katy is also a graduate of Remo Health Rhythms and Rhythm to Recovery Trainings and is a member of the Drum Circle Facilitator’s Guild. www.katygaughan.com \nAshley Tisdale is a board-certified music therapist and accredited drum circle facilitator. She facilitates community drum circle events with a local non-profit “drumSTRONG” in Charlotte\, NC.
